AAS in Nuclear Power Technology

Are you ready to begin your career in nuclear power, or would you like to further your career in the nuclear industry?

This online Associate's degree will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary for a number of positions in the nuclear power industry, including employment as non-licensed operators, maintenance, chemistry, or health physics technicians. If you're presently employed by a nuclear station in a non-technical area, these courses are a great opportunity to expand your technical knowledge and background in nuclear power.

Professionals pursuing an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree will choose one of two tracks towards degree completion: Non-Licensed Operator or Instrumentation & Control.

All classes are offered online to fit your own schedule. Courses for this program begin every 8 weeks on a rotating schedule. This ensures flexibility. Your degree accommodates your personal and professional schedules. Credits earned towards this Associate's degree will apply toward the Bachelors in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Excelsior College.

Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program

The AAS in Nuclear Power Technology is the first online degree approved by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) as part of the Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program (NUCP).  Learn more about the NUCP.  

Students who successfully complete specific curriculum within the BSC Nuclear Power Technology program will receive a National Academy for Nuclear Training Certificate. The certificate states that the student has successfully completed nuclear fundamental training objectives and allows certified students to bypass duplicate fundamental training topics once employed in a nuclear facility.
