What is EPCE?
The Energy Providers Coalition for Education (EPCE) is a group of industry representatives that develops, sponsors, and promotes industry-driven, standardized, quality online learning programs to meet the workforce needs of the energy industry.
Industry coalition (Who makes up EPCE?)
EPCE is a collaboration of energy employers, associations, contractors, labor organizations and education providers that work together to develop and implement quality online learning solutions. Industry stakeholders join EPCE as members to lead the development and use of online learning for energy workforce development. Members also join EPCE to network with peers, receive discounts on tuition and fees, and direct the future of EPCE.
How is the curriculum selected?
The coalition starts with a needs assessment to ensure that any curriculum supported by EPCE is needed and applicable across the industry.
Next, the coalition partners with a recognized educational provider to develop and offer the online curriculum. It is based on the fundamental skills and knowledge needed by employees in this industry. EPCE curriculum committees are active in review and oversight of the EPCE-sponsored programs.
Why online learning?
Convenient and flexible for adult learners, attractive to young people and accessible by all. EPCE’s focus is delivering online education designed by the industry for the industry. The online courses are instructor-led and asynchronous.
