Certificate in Electric Power Technology

Ready to get energized? This Certificate provides the basics of electric power generation, transmission, and distribution.

BSC’s online energy courses are three to five weeks long. You take one course at a time, and are able to complete three to five courses per traditional semester.  A sequence of courses is recommended, but there are no pre-requisites.  Most courses are offered two to three times per year. 

This certificate program provides you with the basics and is designed to prepare students for careers in electrical power generation and distribution. It is offered entirely online to ensure that your education works on your schedule. 

This certificate requires 57 credit hours:

15 Electric Power Technology courses (41 credit hours)
3 to 4 Specialization Courses (12 credit hours) your choice of one of the following areas; Line Construction, Metering, Substation, or System Design
2 classes from two different areas of study (4 credit hours)
