Overview

The EPCE-sponsored Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology (BSNET) offered by Excelsior University emphasizes practical applications of engineering principles as they relate to the nuclear industry. The program is ideal for those interested in a long term career in the nuclear field in areas such as reactor operations, quality assurance, instrumentation and control technology, and more. Students choose between two technical concentrations that prepare them for positions in high-demand job areas, or pursue the general option that gives them the opportunity to design a study plan that aligns with their career goals.

Excelsior University is one of only two US institutions to offer an online ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering technology. The BSNET degree is accredited by Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc.

The BSNET degree requires 124 credit hours. Of the 124 credits, 16 must be earned at the upper level in the technology component.
  • Technology component (including Capstone course): 48 credit hours
  • Arts and Sciences (including Cornerstone course): 60 credit hours
  • Concentration or Free electives (including information literacy): 16 credit hours

NUCLEAR LEADERSHIP

The nuclear industry requires leaders to possess certain industry-specific skills and this concentration is designed to prepare you for careers such as a first support supervisor, second-level leader, or plant manager.  Leadership topics emphasized include business leadership, organizational behavior, change management, leadership communications, and leadership courage/risk management.

NUCLEAR CYBERSECURITY

This concentration focuses on cybersecurity within the nuclear industry and prepares you for a variety of careers in engineering technology and security.  It provides a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity and emphasizes the concepts associated with governance, legal, and compliance of cybersecurity pertaining to the industry, as well as the impact of cyber attacks on nuclear facilities.

Learn Now, Pay Later with Deferred Tuition Program

Excelsior offers a deferred tuition program for those utilizing tuition reimbursement or GI Benefits. This means instead of paying at the time of registration or using a payment plan, payment is deferred until after the course is completed. This allows ample time for you to submit your tuition reimbursement paperwork for a refund.
