Best-in-Class Online Energy Education and Training Offered through an Enhanced Partnership with EPCE and Bismarck State College

EPCE and its founding education partner, Bismarck State College (BSC) National Energy Center for Excellence are thrilled to announce an enhanced partnership to now provide four additional state-of-the-art online, energy education and training programs for the energy industry: Electrical Transmission Systems Technology, Power Plant Technology, Energy Services and Renewable Technician, and Water and Wastewater Technology. These programs are in addition to current, online education and training programs, Electric Power Technology and Nuclear Power Technology.

EPCE presents at the National Energy Education Network Conference

Christine Carpenter, Director of EPCE, was invited to present on a panel titled "The State of Engineering Pipeline," with Wanda Reeder, Chief Strategy Officer for S&C Electric Company. Christine highlighted a few success stories of employees moving into critical engineering jobs after completing specific EPCE-sponsored online engineering courses and programs. Examples include employees moving from Emergency Dispatcher to System Operator, Engineering Technician to Field Engineer and Systems Operations Director to Engineering VP.

Excelsior College presented on, ‘The Importance of Educating Potential Leaders on Organizational Communication Theory’. Excelsior College is working to educate future leaders and build a talent pipeline through its leadership concentration offered in the BS in Nuclear Engineering Technology program.

BSC co-presented with Exelon on, ‘Enhancing Learning Outcomes with Online Human Performance Animations’. BSC is creating interactive learning methodology to build human performance animations to mimic real life plant situations, which enhance an individual’s learning.
